This course provides an in-depth exploration of the role of film in perpetuating antisemitism, with a focus on the methodologies employed by Truth Lens Media. Students will examine the database curated by Truth Lens Media, analyzing the portrayal of Israel and Jews in film, part introduction to Truth Lens Media and the Study of Antisemitism in Film particularly within the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The course will also delve into the strategies for countering antisemitic narratives and protecting democratic values in the face of extremist ideologies.
Course Objectives:
- To understand the significance of film in shaping societal perceptions, particularly regarding antisemitism and anti-Jewish sentiments.
- To analyze the catalog of antisemitic and anti-Jewish films curated by Truth Lens Media, identifying common themes and narratives.
